Sunburnt & Stubborn: Arizona's Weekly Activism Roundup | June 29 - July 5, 2026

Hey all! The July 21 primary is around the corner, and this week is one of the last opportunities for campaigns to reach voters before early ballots start coming back. Candidates are canvassing daily, holding neighborhood town halls, and showing up at Fourth of July celebrations. If you haven't looked at who's on your ballot yet, this is a good week to do that — check out the voter guides on our Resources page.

The Fourth of July falls on Saturday, and Arizona's progressive community is coming out big. We've got parades in Prescott, Phoenix, Flagstaff, and Green Valley (+more). Attorney General Kris Mayes will ride with the Coconino County Dems float in Flagstaff. Congressional candidate JoAnna Mendoza speaks in Green Valley. Protesters in Yuma and Nogales are planning public demonstrations. With the primary three weeks out, it's a good weekend to be visible!

There are over 150 events this week so read ahead for some highlights!
