Sunburnt & Stubborn: Weekly Activism Roundup | April 13 – April 19, 2026
Welcome to Arizona Advocacy Hub
This week has a lot packed into it, and two dates you need to mark right now. April 14 is the national training call for the Communities Not Cages Day of Action on April 25, when communities across the country will push back on ICE warehouse detention centers. And a Section 702 surveillance law that lets the government spy on Americans without a warrant is set to expire — Congress needs to hear from you before they quietly reauthorize it. Read the action alerts this week and then show up. Let's go!

Action Alerts
These actions are timely, high-impact, and quick.
- Tell Congress to vote NO on reauthorizing Section 702 — the warrantless surveillance law. This law allows the government to spy on American citizens without a warrant — and with AI and data brokers in the mix, reauthorizing it now would give the Trump administration unprecedented surveillance capabilities to target immigrants, political opponents, and anyone else they choose. Congress is expected to vote on this soon. Tell your members of Congress to let it expire or require serious reforms: https://act.indivisible.org/sign/tell-congress-say-no-warrantless-ai-mass-surveillance/
- Sign up for the April 25 Communities Not Cages Day of Action — and join the training call April 14. The Trump administration is converting warehouses into mass detention facilities across the country. April 25 is a coordinated national day of action to push back. Register for the training call on April 14 at 8 PM ET to get organized: https://www.mobilize.us/indivisible/event/932124/
- Submit a Letter to the Editor: Fund Schools, Not ICE. A draft letter is provided — send it as-is or personalize it for your local paper. Budgets reflect values: https://actionnetwork.org/letters/fund-schools-not-ice-submit-a-letter-to-the-editor/
